"For virtually all programmatic, technical, or administrative issues, the Resource Center has someone on hand to help."
AFI Resource Center and the Office of Community Services
The experts at the AFI Resource Center are the "first responders" in supporting AFI grantees. For virtually all programmatic, technical, or administrative issues, the center will have someone on hand to help.
The Office of Community Services (OCS) created the AFI Resource Center to provide training and technical assistance to AFI grantees, their project partners, and other related organizations. The center offers a range of services designed to address each grantee's specific needs:
On-Call Grantee Program Specialists: A team of staff and experts who act as grantees' points of contact with the AFI Resource Center and OCS. Each Program Specialist works with grantees in his/her assigned States and regions.
Customized Technical Assistance: Personalized technical assistance in the areas AFI grantees need it—including recruiting participants, providing financial literacy education, building partnerships, and coping with a slow economy. Technical assistance providers assist grantees by telephone or in person.
AFI Project Academies: Intensive, 2-day training events on effective practices for AFI project staff and partners.
AFI2: A free online system for managing and reporting strong IDA projects. Grantees use AFI2 to maintain information on project participants, including their savings, asset purchases, and participation.
Calendar of Events: To keep up with AFI Resource Center events and conference calls, check out the Events Calendar, which lists dates of AFI Project Academies, conference calls, and other activities of interest to grantees.
"IDA Resources Update" E-Newsletter: Weekly publication with the latest information about AFI, IDAs, and other asset-building strategies; articles on effective practices; and success stories. Subscribe to the newsletter to stay informed on AFI updates and innovations.
