Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help

Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help (CASH) provides business training, a supportive community, and capital to help enterprising individuals with limited financial resources gain self-sufficiency through small business ownership.

The overall goal of this program is to generate assets for 86 low-income individuals over the 5-year project period. Through IDA asset-building activities, this will result in new businesses, higher income, and community revitalization.

Partners

U.S. Bank, a participating financial institution, will provide no-fee custodial accounts. ABLE will assist with referral of participants. American Financial Solutions will provide free credit counseling. Washington Attorneys Assisting Community Organizations will provide pro bono legal services. Credit Builders Alliance will assist with credit building services. Seattle University Business and Law Clinic will provide ABLE participants with business planning services. Seattle-King Asset Building Coalition and United Way of King County/YMCA are participating partners. Burst of Prosperity will provide outreach in low-income communities. Small Business Association will provide loan funds. Univision will provide outreach to the Latino community. WABC will provide EITC tax prep sites.
