ACTION-Housing, Inc.

Allegheny Council To Improve Our Neighborhoods-Housing Incorporated (d.b.a. ACTION-Housing, Inc.) helps people build more secure and self-sufficient lives through affordable housing, modifying homes to make them accessible for disabled patrons, weatherization, pre-purchase and foreclosure counseling, the Family Savings Account asset building program, and educational and employment support.

This new single-agency project emphasizes homeownership with the goal of helping participants build more secure and self-sufficient lives through decent, affordable housing and the development of other assets including education and small business development. ACTION-Housing previously participated in a statewide AFI project to increase the assets of low-income Pennsylvania residents.

Local partner Citizens’ Bank uses a business model based on neighborhood service.
