Brazos Valley Community Action Agency

Brazos Valley Community Action Agency is a nonprofit agency that has provided one AFI grant since 2009, with the objective of identifying and assisting people with asset building and helping them achieve their financial goals.

Brazos Valley Community Action Agency emphasizes homeownership, postsecondary education, and business capitalization, with the goal of assisting participants through asset building, buying their homes, improving their earning potential, or starting businesses to end or mitigate poverty. This grantee is successful in partnering with in-house and local agencies to provide a variety of support services for participants.

Partners for Brazos Valley Community Action Agency include the Brazos Valley United Way; City of Bryan and College Station in housing programs (CHDO); Project Unity; Brazos Land Realty & Properties; Brazos Valley Small Business Development Center; Agrilife; and Citibank, which provide a strong participant recruitment base, tax preparation help, financial education, and asset-specific education. City of Bryan and College Station in housing programs (CHDO) builds homes for people who complete IDA program.
