United Way and Community Foundation of Northwest Iowa

United Way and Community Foundation of Northwest Iowa is a nonprofit agency that has provided one AFI grant since 2008, with the objective to develop solutions for financial instability that prevents local low-income individuals and families from being successful.

United Way and Community Foundation of Northwest Iowa emphasize homeownership, postsecondary education, and business capitalization, with the goal of developing solutions to financial instability that prevents local individuals and families from being successful. Highlights of this grantee include integrating the program with the other social service offerings at the agency, including free income tax preparation, financial education and budgeting, credit repair and debt reduction, access to employer and public benefits, parenting skills, job skills training, nutrition and healthy living education, family crisis management, access to reliable transportation, access to affordable health care, Home First Rental Stability Program, and Asset Maintenance Loan Program, which offers 0% interest loans to qualifying homeowners for home repairs and emergencies.
