Missouri Association for Community Action

Missouri Association for Community Action is a coalition of community action agencies that have provided two AFI grants since 2001, with the objective of helping low-income Missourians build assets through homeownership, education, and small business development, and increase the likelihood they will become self-sufficient and achieve economic independence.

Missouri Association for Community Action is a network grantee with 18 subgrantees. The association emphasizes homeownership, postsecondary education, and business capitalization, with the goal of assisting low-income residents of Missouri to accumulate assets and gain basic financial education. This grantee has been successful in providing technical assistance to subgrantees, such as developing simplified intake forms, offering a train-the-trainers financial literacy class, and offering one-on-one training.
