Inner City Christian Federation is a nonprofit housing developer and housing counseling agency that since 2007 has provided three AFI grants with the objective of increasing the self-sufficiency of low-income individuals and their families in southwestern Michigan.
Inner City Christian Federation is a network grantee with one subgrantee. Inner City Christian Federation emphasizes homeownership, postsecondary education, and business capitalization with the goal of removing low-income individuals’ barriers to accumulating assets. Inner City Christian Federation has been successful in providing a wide range of housing services, including emergency shelter for homeless families, affordable permanent rental housing, pre- and post-purchase counseling, and homeownership classes. This grant has also participated in a statewide collaboration to administer IDAs since 2001.

Inner City Christian Federation partners with Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency, Community Action Agency-Jackson, and Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women to provide technical assistance, referral services, financial education, and IDA management.
