Goodwill Industries of San Antonio

Goodwill Industries of San Antonio Goodwill Industries of San Antonio is a nonprofit organization that has provided four AFI grants since 2004, with the objective of helping high-need and low-resource people gain financial literacy skills and acquiring assets.

This grant emphasizes homeownership and postsecondary education with the goal of helping low-income people improve their financial literacy skills and begin building assets, especially enhanced education or vocational training. Another goal is to assist low-income people in using IDAs to build assets, become economically self-sufficient, and capitalize on the value, both tangible and intangible, of homeownership. This grantee has been successful in collaborating with experienced local organizations and postsecondary schools to share lessons learned and best practices, in opening IDAs, and helping achieve first home purchases.
