Formed in 1887, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (B&GCGM) is the city’s largest neighborhood-based youth guidance organization and a seminal leader in the provision of protective factors for Milwaukee’s at-risk youth. The B&GCGM is a youth guidance organization dedicated to promoting health, social, educational, vocational, cultural, character, and leadership development. It aims to help young people improve their lives by building self-esteem, values, and skills during critical periods of growth. The Club’s primary purpose is to have a positive impact on the lives of Milwaukee’s youth.
Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee is a nonprofit organization that has been provided three AFI grants since 2003, with the objective to improve homeownership and educational opportunities to eligible low-income residents of Milwaukee.

Partners for this grantee include the United Way of Greater Milwaukee, Select Milwaukee, postsecondary institutions, individuals, and foundations. Select Milwaukee provides credit counseling, homeownership education, and first-time homebuyer assistance.
